This is one of those movies you put on to relax, enjoy, and have fun. It's long been one of my favourite Rickman films, and should be re-released following his sad demise. I love Alan Rickman, would have this man read me the phone directory, as his voice is sublime...the storyline is short and sweet, we are not given too much of the past happenings of the main characters nor too much of what the future will be, but are given a fun glimpse into a National Hairdressing competition held in the small town of Keighley in Yorkshire. A sleepy town in northern England is unexpectedly chosen to host a major annual hairstyling contest. Watch Queue Queue. Sometimes it takes something tragic to drive that point home.

This was bought to replace a video copy so I know the film well, it is set in the north of Yorkshire but has a wide range of humour a light storey with thoughtful moments. This must be one of the funniest films ever with a hint of pathos plus sadness. Details below.
