Gardens by the Bay will have conservatories that will bring in plants native to more temperate climates as well as themed gardens that explore the different cultural traditions that make up Singapore. They support 162,900 tropical climbing plants of nearly 200 species from various tropical countries, such as Brazil. Flower Dome, Children's Garden and selected F&B establishments, services & amenities have also resumed operations and are open to the rest of the public. The Bay East Garden was opened for a brief period in 2010 to host the rowing and canoeing events of the Youth Olympic Games. The largest of the gardens is the Bay South Garden at 54 hectares designed by Grant Associates. The Central Grove occupies 6,000 square metres and fits in 2,000 people during events.

Its Flower Dome is the largest glass greenhouse in the world. The Silver Leaf is located under the grove of silver coloured Supertrees. An 11-member jury panel selected Grant Associates to design the Bay South and Gustafson Porter for the Bay East.
