Registration for 2020-21 School year. AP European History is a yearlong introductory college level course focusing on the historical development of Europe from 1450 to the present. Emphasis is placed on the four-fold approach to understanding and applying the concepts of calculus – numerical, graphical, analytical, and verbal. Major emphasis is placed on the culture of these societies, illustrating political, scientific, artistic, and social advances. Students learn how visual and verbal elements work together as they apply basic design principles using PageMaker software. In comparative politics, and initial study in basic political science is followed by a survey of the governments and political systems of five countries: Great Britain, France, Russia, The People's Republic of China, and either India, Mexico, or Nigeria.The course utilizes survey texts in United States and comparative politics, primary sources, and other scholarly readings.The microeconomics curriculum requires a major commitment and intellectual energy from each student.

It is about understanding and becoming very familiar with the texts.Since various advanced placement Latin curricula are offered by the College Board, the teacher may choose which of these to offer in a given year based on the students' interests and his/her own resources. The course is equivalent to a semester college-level introductory geography course.
At Stratford STEM Magnet High School, students belong to both a magnet and an academy school. The course will introduce students to the creative aspects of programming, abstractions, algorithms, large data sets, the Internet, cybersecurity concerns, and computing impacts. This course is designed for students who have already completed AP Computer Science A. Geography and map studies are important parts of the course.College Preparation American history and American English focuses on a combined American Studies approach. Students are introduced to the major schools of historiography and read texts and monographs by historians representative of these schools. Effective newswriting skills such as generating ideas, gathering information, interviewing, writing, and editing will be mastered. We also have formal debates about complex issues facing contemporary scientific ethics.

Students become better arguers by debating in class and by writing the essays. Our reading of the Latin will feel like we have it memorized. This course is not for mere users – it is for creators. The course explores current trends in newswriting such as the increasing emphasis on graphics. Stratford Academy; Olson Library; How to Videos. The goal of this course is to explore how certain historical events have been experienced, remembered, and subsequently reinterpreted through the various mediums of fiction, film, and academic history.In order to better contextualize the history and historiography of regional conflicts and rebellions, this course will engage in close readings of relevant novels, poems, and short stories. Students who aren't planning to take AP French may also sign up for French IV, as they may wish to continue polishing their language skills after level three.

Students can expect to read texts about such theories and write essays on their genesis and proliferation. The students are involved in every aspect of production from laying out the pages on the computers and selecting the pictures to writing text and captions. Students are exposed to the major religions of the world as well as other philosophical and religious belief systems.

This course also includes a basic study of permutations, combinations, and probability. Students will practice techniques for ecosystem monitoring in the local environment. It is recommended for students who grasp mathematical concepts quickly and are more likely to pursue college degrees involving higher level mathematics. Students will have the opportunity to use technology to address real-world problems and build relevant solutions.
