I hit this trail going up the Hill past the nature center and came back around and it's got some pretty tough trails enjoyed it though and really love the zoom trail right past the homes on the left.Mountain bike trails are awesome for something so close.Great hiking for adults not kid friendly no shade,place is over grown but very nice. DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING IN CAR!! Mellow for awhile as went toward the Via Vista trailhead.

A big climb to get up there for a reminder of the gorgeous views and what we had hiked and then a nice climb back to Barton. Explore only if you're experienced and well supplied.

For people who would like only a short and/or easy hike, the Sycamore Canyon Fireroad from the campground and the Satwiwa area at the north end provide lots of choices. !Car was broken into at the main parking lot sometime between 6-6:40pm on May 8. Sycamore Canyon is the second largest canyon is Arizona and offers hikers plenty of solitude and natural beauty. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. There was plenty of parking and a lot of different trails to follow. Man the runs are long and fun with some cool jumps and great rock trails and Boulders. We went during spring so the flowers had just started to bloom.
There is plenty of free parking at the top (north end) at the two trailheads, and ample paid parking in the campground at the bottom. Park at the jack in the box off Barton road if you don’t want vehicles to be vandalized Be careful when we parked there was a lady that her car was broken into.
Bring a lot of water and enjoy the trail.
No trade, beautiful view with flower. Hard and more than moderate on the 1 or 2 mile hike to get out of that trail. Nice views but it’s probably a better trail for the spring/fall weather. Sad but true!
This trail I took was on the East and wrapped around back towards the middle of the Canyon with some nice whips and good climbs with great shoots.
Sycamore Canyon can be very hot and dry during the summer months.
