"Abide With Me," sung at my mother's funeral and number 18 on the CD, is actually a very hard song to sing well, and Mr. Netherton does a very good job with this song, and Mr. Netherton's signature song, "You'll Never Walk Alone," number 11 on the CD, is, of course, always sung very well by him. Any one who watched the later Lawrence Welk programs will know what a special way he had about him, great singer and so handsome. I hadn't given it much thought in the years since the cassette was damaged, but I was looking for some older Christian standards to listen to and came across this CD. Tom's rich baritone voice sings 22 favorite hymns that have been older church goers' classics forever. This will appeal to older folks who remember the Lawrence Welk years on TV. We'd highly recommend this to anyone who enjoyed him on The Lawrence Welk Show but also to people who never have seen a single episode, as this music transcends genres and generations.
