No kidding.Violet Parry is bored. She is bored with what her life has become. I agree, it wasn't very well-written, with the exception of a few lines here or there. I love a book that makes me feel like I really *know* them, and Semple has a wonderful knack for that. AMaria Semple’s Where’d You Go, Bernadette was a fabulous read so I had high hopes for This One is Mine but I didn’t enjoy it nearly as much.

Not badly written, I just hate the story. I loved "Bernadette" and would go so far as to say it's one of my favourite ever novels.
The story was broken into alternating perspectives of two female characters, sisters-in-law. When she meets Teddy, a roguish small-time bass player, Violet comes alive, and soon she's risking everything for the chance to find herself again. It was just the type of book I was in the mood for.
